Anthony Ogogo beats world number one to seal ... - BBC World News

British middleweight boxer Anthony Ogogo has sealed a shock result in the ring to take him through to the last eight, beating world champion Ievgen Khytorv on a countback. Anthony Ogogo kept his Olympic hopes alive with a win over world champion Ievgen Khytov (Picture: Getty Images) Although the Ukranian world no.1 won the final round 8-7 to tie the scores at 18-18, the Lowestoft fighter went through on countback. The victory now puts him in firm contention for a gold medal. Despite some early pressure from the reigning world champion, Ogogo fought sensibly and found himself 5-3 ahead at the end of the first round. Khytrov battled back in the second and won the round 7-6 and his 8-7 victory in the third and final round ensured the result went to the judges, but it was the 23-year-old Englishman who caused the upset to keep his Olympic hopes alive. Ogogo will now face either Irishman Darren O? Neill or Stefan Hartel of Germany in the quarter-finals on Monday night.

(AP) ? The bullpen door swung open, and Joba Chamberlain stopped to take in the scene. For the first time in 14 months, he was headed back to a major league mound.

"You're heart gets racing again, just to know that door's opening, your name is called and you're going to pitch," he said. "It was something that I will remember for the rest of my life.'"

Chamberlain returned from elbow and ankle injuries that had sidelined him since June 5 last season and the Yankees revived a bit, too, routing the Baltimore Orioles 12-3 to stop a four-game losing streak that tied their season high.

With Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor on hand and sitting with the Bleacher Creatures at the start, Robinson Cano hit a grand slam in a seven-run third inning, Derek Jeter had three hits and three RBIs on a rainy afternoon and Phil Hughes (11-8) pitched homerless ball for only the fifth time this year.

A night after wasting a five-run, first-inning lead in an 11-5 defeat, New York gave Zach Britton another shellacking at Yankee Stadium, won for just the fourth time in 13 games and restored a 6?-game lead in the AL East rather than have Baltimore creep within 4?.

"I want it to be 20 games," Nick Swisher said.

Chamberlain, the excitable pitcher who has alternated energizing and puzzling Yankees fans since his debut in 2007, had pitched eight scoreless outings before going on the disabled list with a sore elbow last June. The following day, an MRI revealed a torn ligament.

He appeared to be a month or two from returning before he dislocated his right ankle during spring training while playing with his son at a local spot that had a trampoline. Some fretted he might not return this year. Chamberlain said he never doubted or got down, inspired by his dad, Harlan Chamberlain ? in a wheelchair since childhood due to polio.

"He never complained why, and he was never going to be out of his wheelchair. He was never going to miraculously be able to walk again. And I knew I was going to be able to walk again," Joba said. "It was a great example for me growing up to be able to get through this."

Chamberlain entered to a big ovation and started J.J. Hardy with a called strike, then gave up a home run on an 85 mph slider that went just over the glove of leaping left fielder Ichiro Suzuki, hit the top of the wall and bounced into the seats. Chamberlain threw 28 pitches, allowing two runs, a walk, four hits in 1 2-3 innings, including an RBI double to Endy Chavez in the eighth. His fastball reached 93 mph ? four mph less than during his minor league rehab outings ? and he relied on off-speed pitches.

"I was curious to see how he would do today because I'm sure there's a lot of emotions," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "He threw strikes. I'm happy with that. I didn't think he tried to overthrow today."

With Mariano Rivera out for the season following knee surgery, Chamberlain could wind up as the Yankees seventh-inning pitcher behind setup man David Robertson and closer Rafael Soriano.

"He's almost like a trade acquisition," Hughes said.

Swisher never doubted that Chamberlain would make it back to the major leagues this season.

"You seen the size of that dude? That guy's a beast," he said. "Big guys like that really heal up well. He had a bad injury, man. Can't blame him for that, man. I got a kid. I take him to the trampoline thing."

Hughes allowed nine hits but just one run in six innings.

"I didn't pitch well at all," he said. "Didn't have good stuff. Didn't have good location. Was just trying to bear down and get some outs when I really needed them."

In his first outing at Yankee Stadium, Britton (1-1) retired just one batter during a 12-run first inning in a 17-3 loss last July 30. He got a no-decision in September and allowed seven runs over 2 2-3 innings in this one, leaving him with a 19.13 ERA in the Bronx.

"We're in the hunt, and I understand what I have to do to be at this level," he said. "I'm not getting it done right now. So I got to either do something or somebody else is going to come up and find a way to do the job."

NOTES: Suzuki, acquired from Seattle on July 23, played left field for only the second time in his big league career ? the other was in Game 5 of the 2001 AL championship series at old Yankee Stadium. He made a leaping catch of Mark Reynolds' drive near the top of the wall in the sixth. ... Casey McGehee made his Yankees debut, a day after he was obtained from Pittsburgh at the trade deadline. His beard shaved off to comply with team rules, McGehee started at first base and went 0 for 2 with two walks, two runs and an eighth-inning sacrifice fly. ... Sotomayor, a Bronx native, joined the Bleacher Creatures for their first-inning Roll Call. Curtis Granderson hit his 29th homer in the first. ... Cano had been in a 1-for-17 slide entering the series finale. His slam was his second this season and ninth overall. ... Alex Rodriguez, his broken left hand bandaged, played with his kids on the field after the game on family day. ... The Yankees were 7 for 13 with runners in scoring position, Baltimore 0 for 15.

Kurds to stop oil exports in month unless Baghdad pays

LONDON (Reuters) - Iraq's Kurdistan region said its planned resumption of oil exports may last only to August 31 if the central government does not pay arrears to foreign companies, meaning the rise in Iraq's overall shipments to world markets could be brief.

The semi-autonomous region said on Wednesday it would restart exports this week in a bid to end the payments dispute with Baghdad. The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) says the central government has withheld payment of $1.5 billion.

Natural Resources Minister Ashti Hawrami gave the end-August deadline in a letter posted on the KRG's website and addressed to oil companies DNO, Genel Energy and Kar Group.

"What I have in mind is to restart the oil export for only one month, i.e. for all of the August period," Hawrami wrote in the letter, dated July 28.

"If the payments are not released by the end of this period, then we agree to halt all the export at the midnight of 31st August."

The KRG and Baghdad are locked in a long-running feud over oil and land rights that has shut in exports for the past four months from the oilfields being tapped by foreign oil companies in the northern region.

Letters released on the KRG website show the companies were initially reluctant to go along with the export restart.

Genel Chief Executive Tony Hayward said in a letter to Hawrami the company had not been paid for the majority of oil exported in 2009 and 2011. "This has had a very significant impact on our operations," the letter said.

The KRG on Wednesday said exports would remain at 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) for a month and if payments were made, could move swiftly to 200,000 bpd. Hawrami said the plan may not succeed and reaction from industry executives was cautious.

"We hope Baghdad sees the resumption of exports as a conciliatory gesture and they can make some headway with settling their differences," said an oil industry source.

"It makes sense why they are doing this, although it is hard to believe this will get progress in the next 30 days," said another source, both of whom declined to be identified.

PAYMENTS BACKLOG

Under Iraq's budget, the KRG is to supply 175,000 bpd of crude for export, but the KRG halted the trade in early April, saying Baghdad owed it a backlog of payments.

The central government is required to route 50 percent of the KRG's export earnings to Kurdistan to cover producing companies' previous costs. Baghdad issued two payments in 2011, totaling $514 million; the KRG said it is owed $1.5 billion.

Crude produced in Kurdistan is fed into Iraq's Kirkuk export stream and sold onto world markets via the Turkish Mediterranean port of Ceyhan. The KRG export halt had cut Kirkuk shipments by a quarter to below 300,000 bpd.

Iraq is boosting oil sales from its southern ports following an increase in export capacity earlier this year. Adding another 100,000 bpd to northern exports would bring Iraq's overall shipments to around 2.6 million bpd, a postwar record.

Iraq's oil dispute with Kurdistan has escalated after Baghdad threatened to cancel a contract with France's Total for signing Kurdish deals and a unit of Russia's Gazprom also entered the autonomous area.

Total and Gazprom followed U.S. majors Exxon and Chevron in signing oil accords with Kurdistan.

The Dangers Of Using Personal Finance Apps | Avid Investor Group

The Dangers Of Using Personal Finance Apps

The advent of mobile devices has enabled a host of conveniences that many people never before thought possible. You can transfer money, pay bills, record transactions and keep track of your personal finances, all from your smartphone.

SEE: 5 Apps That Make Millions

However, with this technology comes hazards that can ruin your finances if you?re not careful and vigilant in protecting your personal information. Before you download any personal finance app, keep the following tips in mind.

Protect Your Personal Information
In order to effectively use most personal finance apps, you must enter sensitive information, such as your bank login and password, with which criminals can gain access to your accounts. Confirm the validity of all apps before downloading, and if you get online through a public access point, commonly known as a free wireless hotspot, verify the exact name of the access point with the retailer first. One way criminals can steal your information is to set up a fraudulent one.

Beware of Fake Apps
As mobile technology gets smarter, so do the criminals. There is a range of fake apps on the market. In fact, Google recently removed over 50 apps from its marketplace, as they were found to contain malware that would allow a criminal to virtually take over your device. To avoid being fooled, look for spelling errors in the description of the app (a major red flag), and never click on pop-up advertising in an app.

Apps Shouldn?t Substitute Financial Planning
Most apps are designed for the masses and not necessarily for your unique personal financial situation. They may not account for your complete financial picture, and therefore, the info they provide could be skewed. Some apps even disarrange spending transactions. The point is that mobile apps cannot entirely replace a thorough offline look at your financial situation and goals.

Your Mobile Device Could Be Stolen
According to the security firm, Lookout, around $30 billion worth of mobile phones were lost last year ? and the more personal information you carry on your phone, the more likely a lost or stolen phone could result in theft of your accounts or of your identity. Be sure your phone is password-protected, with security software installed, and that it has a remote wipe capability so you can clear your device if it is lost or stolen.

Read-Only Access Can Be Misleading
Just because an app has ?read only? access to your information ? meaning a criminal can?t access your accounts ? doesn?t mean you?re safe. A sharp criminal can simply view your spending habits or other private financial data, then contact you and reference this to trick you into releasing your password or other sensitive information he or she could use to steal your identity or money.

SEE: 7 Tips to Avoid Online Scams and Swindles

The Bottom Line
Personal finance apps can make managing your money a breeze. However, with all the risks involved, think twice before downloading any app that requires your bank account login or other personal information.

If you feel uncomfortable using mobile technology, consider using offline personal finance management software, such as Quicken or Excel. The last thing you want is to have your identity stolen just because you want to do your banking on the run.

'Missile Missy' is tearing up Olympic pool

LONDON (AP) ? Life just keeps on getting bigger and better for Missy Franklin, the teenage swimming sensation whose fame is quickly spreading beyond the Olympic pool.

Even Bieber's a believer.

The 17-year-old girl with the can't-miss smile and catchy "Missile Missy" nickname is cheerily living up to the outsized expectations that were heaped on her going into her first Olympics.

Franklin won a gold medal ? even before Michael Phelps ? in the 100-meter backstroke Monday after having opened her games with a relay bronze.

And a certain teen idol took notice.

"Heard (at)FranklinMissy is a fan of mine," singer Justin Bieber tweeted Tuesday. "Now I'm a fan of hers too! CONGRATS on winning GOLD! (Hashtag)muchlove."

"I just died," Franklin tweeted in response. "Thank you!"

She's still got five more events to go, giving her plenty of chances to leave London as America's big star with Phelps heading into retirement. His underwhelming performances so far and Ryan Lochte's failure in his last two events have swung the spotlight squarely on Franklin.

She has a shot at another medal in the 200 freestyle on Tuesday night. She claimed the last spot in the eight-woman final just 14 minutes before she won the first gold medal of what promises to be a stellar career.

"What kind of high school kid can do that?" marveled teammate Breeja Larson.

Franklin finished the semis of the 200 free on Monday night, then raced to the diving well for a quick warmdown. There was no time to make it to the practice pool before her bigger race.

"That was fantastic. She did it exactly right," said Bob Bowman, Phelps' coach.

No less an authority on doubling up than Phelps was amazed at her stamina. He estimated his tightest time between races at a major meet was about 30 minutes.

"She's a racer and she knows what to do," he said, having long ago paid Franklin the ultimate compliment to a swimmer: "She's a stud."

At 6-foot-1, with big hands and size 13 feet, Franklin cuts an imposing figure on the starting blocks. And ? Bieber take note ? her size is no impediment to her dancing skills.

She shows them off in the U.S. swimming team's recent video spoof to "Call Me Maybe." Franklin boogies down the aisle of a plane and whips her long brown hair around while lip-synching to the Carly Rae Jepsen tune that has inspired countless viral videos.

Franklin has cracked up her teammates since last summer, when she won three gold medals in her first world championships in China and set two American records in the process. They were amused by her excited approach to swimming the mundane morning prelims and her bubbly personality.

She's been even more enthusiastic ? if that's possible ? at the Olympics. She loves her apartment in the athletes village and was thrilled at the prospect of taking home the comforter on her bed. "They're so cute," she gushed.

"She is always smiling, always positive," Larson said. "You will never hear a negative thing out of her mouth."

Franklin showed up for the medalists' news conference with the gold medal stuffed in the pocket of her gray warmup jacket. When someone asked where it was, she quickly pulled it out and slipped the purple ribbon it hangs from around her neck.

"Isn't it pretty?" she said.

She figures to have many more to admire in the future.

Cheap Web Designer ? Cheap website Business ? Cheap Site ...

Welcome to Straightforward Webs and SEO, here I wanted to outline how a trends of website design are changing so quickly on a daily basis, what was once a long and long experience for both the web page design team and the consumer is now a faster procedure thanks to many system on the internet allowing virtually anyone to build their particular website online, most website design agencies frown this, they say ?it?s all Flash? ?They don?t search great? etc. etc., well I would like to just set the record straight as these platforms not in favor of everything a website designer coder has ever known as it has threatened the lifeline of their livelihood, long gone is the time of sitting there html coding a full a full internet site for the small business, simply put they don?t have the finances of say 800 to have a site produced for a traditional decorator, what they need is a fast and price effective solution to an online presence.

Cheap Website Designer

Yes they can use the internet here and attempt to build their particular website but I understand the same pattern growing every time, they start along with full enthusiasm, have the site looking good, let it loose on the internet and this bottoms out, no place to be seen and they that would be that, instead of putting in the task at the beginning, the problem is that would they know what the search engines are trying to find?
No they don?t, SEO has changed in a huge approach over the last 12 months, a lot of companies were charging luck on Monthly legal agreements for the service, nevertheless this is not the case anymore, what was once a monthly fee involving 199.00 to keep an individual up the rankings is now implemented for 40.00 and in some cases a website can rise from the ranks without even pressing it.

When we build a website we like to keep things simple and we have a formula that works and that?s a fact.

. Nice simple to navigate clean internet site.
. All the relevant information in the website.
. Every one of the back end of the website reads as it ought to so the search engines will get it (and let?s become frank here, simply Google matters!)
. Cellular optimised, there are more those with hand held mobile devices as well as the trend is ever growing, out of 1800 Ferraris sold a year ago 860 were searched and bought using a mobile device.
. All the bells and whistles I.E. Analytics, Webmaster tools, Google Roadmaps, Tap to Contact, this allows us to keep an eye on what the website is doing, what people typed in to find the website, how long these people stay on the website, exactly what page they remaining the website, where these are from.
. Weekly ranking reports, Google ratings can change on a daily basis if the site is shedding down we can act and push it back up, how ? Straightforward, new content, pertinent links on various other sites.

Now we are really not saying that website could be the be all and also end all for any business as this is far from the truth, in some cases however some businesses are built around an online presence and if that was to decrease so would the business enterprise, but in today?s world of web marketing a Website is essential, most of the people will ask you, ?do there is a website we can look at?? this gives the potential customer the opportunity to browse through what you?re about in the comfort of being alone and also making judging selections that could convert into a sale, or not.

In other words, we at Straightforward Webs and SEO are the Cheapest Web Designers in the UK, we don?t have addons, we don?t have undetectable charges, we enable you to control what you put in the site and if you wish to find us just type Google ?Cheap Website Design, Low cost Website Company, Inexpensive Web Designer? and you will find us up there on page One.

PFT: Jones-Drew still at impasse with Jaguars

Matt Leinart

When they were together at Southern Cal 10 years ago, Carson Palmer was the mentor and Matt Leinart the student.

These days, the Raiders backup quarterback has flipped those roles, serving as Palmer?s teacher in his new offensive system.

Because Leinart?s worked with Raiders coordinator Greg Knapp the last two years in Houston, he?s sharing his wisdom with the guy he followed under center for the Trojans.

?It?s an interesting turn of events,? Leinart told Paul Gutierrez of CSNBayArea.com. ?To be with Carson again, it?s crazy. It?s 10 years removed since he left USC. It?s 10 years, we?re back together, which is fun. It?s interesting because Carson?s been around the game a long time, [but] for me, being part of this offense a few years, I?m still competing my butt off, but this is the first year I?ve really felt like that veteran leader to help the young guys.

?Because we?re a young football team, so this is the first year I?ve really felt like I?m helping the young guys.?

Granted, Palmer?s 32 and Leinart?s 29, but the point stands.

Leinart said their familiarity makes it seem like college all over again, but Palmer said he can learn some things from Leinart because of the time spent with Knapp.

?No disrespect to my quarterback coach, Coach Flip [John DeFilippo] and Coach Knapp, but it?s different when you hear it from a player, for whatever reason,? Palmer said. ?Your coach can tell you the same thing over and over again and every once in a while Matt will chime in and say, ?You know, I hit this on this play against this team? or whatever. It?s nice to get a coaching point from a player some times. Not all the time, but sometimes.

?He?s got experience in it because he?s done it and if he hasn?t done it, he?s seen it done by another quarterback in [Matt] Schaub or T.J. Yates or whoever it was. It?s really nice to get kind of the same coaching points, but it?s a little more believable when you get it from a player sometimes.?

Even if that player is the guy who was your understudy a decade ago.
