Great Britain boxer and Metro columnist Luke Campbell secures the team?s 28th gold medal of the London 2012 Olympics by winning the bantamweight title. Campbell?s more incisive shots saw him go 5-3 up after the first round but his opponent battled back in the second round, with a particularly sweet upper cut and long-range right hander closing the points gap to 9-8. Unsurprisingly, with the scores so close and such a prize up for grabs, the third round was a tense affair until a perfectly-timed left from Campbell had Nevin on the deck as he lined up a right of his own. Having gained the upper hand, Campbell refused to concede any ground and by the time the cards were checked, it was already clear he had done enough to win.
